Wir beobachten, dass der gesellschaftliche Diskurs über das Schwangersein – einen Zustand, der zu massiven Grenzerfahrungen führen kann – oberflächlich und einseitig geführt wird. Das Sprechen über die Vielfältigkeit und die hohe Ambivalenz der Erfahrungen von Schwangeren ist immer noch tabubehaftet und von vielen alten Klischees und Glaubenssätzen geprägt.
Mangelt es an medizinischer Forschung oder versteckt sich irgendwo eine Angst vor diesem absoluten Lebensprinzip? Ist das Körperliche eine Provokation? Ist Schwangersein ein Riesenwagnis oder das Natürlichste der Welt?

We have noticed that the discourse on being pregnant – a state that can lead to a true experience of one’s limit – is being conducted in a superficial and single-minded way. Open discussions about the diversity of the experience of being pregnant are still a taboo, and, when they occur, are spoiled by clichés and old-fashioned beliefs.
Are we in need of more medical research or is there a hidden fear of this absolute principle of life? Is the body a provocation? Is being pregnant a high-risk venture or the most natural thing in the world?
